R&D Tax Credits & Grant Funding support for forward thinking businesses across the UK and Ireland.

R&D Tax Credits & Grant Funding support for forward thinking businesses across the UK and Ireland.
Redline removes the pain associated with claiming R&D Tax Credits and grant funding, without compromising on quality.
We work with a small number of innovative businesses across the UK and Ireland, providing hands-on, sector-specific expertise. We do not use generic templates or volume-driven processes. Every client engagement is a bespoke technical and financial exercise.
We invest the time to understand your technology, your projects, and your teams, so your R&D claim reflects the real challenges you are solving, not a generic version of them.
By combining smart technology with rigorous technical and financial review, and a deep working knowledge of the relevant tax legislation, we produce claims that are accurate and compliant, and stand up to scrutiny.
We also specialise in the interaction between R&D tax relief and grant funding, ensuring both are structured correctly and work together, not against each other.
Our objective is simple - to deliver high-quality R&D tax credit claims and grant applications that maximise legitimate funding while minimising compliance risk.

We help businesses across the UK and Ireland prepare and submit accurate R&D tax credit claims that are aligned to the official guidelines on R&D.

With team expertise in software, AI, advanced engineering, and automotive sectors, we ensure your projects are captured and presented correctly, optimising your tax credit benefit, while keeping the claim process simple for your team.
Our in-house Chartered Accountants will prepare a detailed R&D cost analysis so you can rest assured that i) only eligible costs will be included in your claim, and ii) we will not over-inflate your qualifying expenditure figures.

If your R&D tax credit claim has been challenged by HMRC or the Irish Revenue, our specialists can step in to defend it - even if we didn’t prepare your claim in the first instance.

From early-stage 'ideation workshops' to strategic R&D roadmaps, we help business owners plan, execute, and fund their innovation.
Our team supports project development and commercialisation pathways.
We can help identify funding opportunities and craft grant applications for a range of different support, both financial and technical, ensuring your R&D investments deliver both technical break-throughs and financial returns.
We focus on doing things correctly. The R&D tax advisory market has become crowded with providers who often prioritise claim volume over quality, submitting R&D claims that do not comply with the statutory guidelines.
Redline takes the fundamentally correct approach - every project is assessed against the statutory definition of R&D and supported by detailed technical and financial evidence.
We would rather submit fewer, higher-quality claims than expose our clients to risk of non-compliance.
Unlike some advisors who reverse-engineer claims to fit target monetary figures, we start from the facts of your projects and work forwards. Our team is trained to interpret the R&D tax rules and understand how they should be applied in practice, ensuring that only genuinely qualifying activities and costs are included. The result is an R&D claim that stands up to scrutiny.
We do not use off-the-shelf claim templates or commercially available “claim automation” platforms. Every Redline claim is built from the ground up based on the specific facts of your projects.
Our process starts with detailed technical interviews conducted by sector specialists who understand both the industry and how the legislation defines R&D. Your projects are assessed against the statutory guidelines before any costs are considered, not the other way around.
We then apply rigorous financial validation to ensure that only eligible costs are included and that complex scenarios such as grant interactions, subcontracting rules, and scheme boundaries are treated correctly.
We use our own in-house developed AI tools to support consistency checks and evidence validation, but they do not replace professional judgement or generate generic narratives.
This combination of specialist human review and controlled technology results in claims that are technically accurate and defensible in the event of an 'enquiry'. We are not simply trying to maximise a headline monetary value.
Low-cost and automated providers often prioritise speed and claim size over regulatory accuracy, which can increase the risk of HMRC or Revenue challenge.
Redline takes a quality-first approach. We assess projects against the R&D guidelines before including costs, build claims from original technical evidence, and apply the rules conservatively and correctly.
Our process is transparent, ethical, and focused on delivering the benefit your business is genuinely entitled to, not creating future compliance problems.
If your claim is queried, we stand behind our work and manage 'the enquiry' for you. We also offer a specialist Enquiry Defence for claims prepared by other providers or submitted via DIY tools.
We know your staff don’t have time for endless paperwork or writing R&D project narratives. Our process is designed to be simple and efficient, with focussed workshops, AI-assisted information capture, and clear guidance at every step.
You will be assigned a dedicated technical expert who will write the entirety of the project technical narratives - all we require from you is to indulge us some time with your professionals to understand what you have been working on.
Our accountants and data analysts are skilled with Xero and Sage and can extract the financial data we need directly from your accounting system, again minimising the pain of preparing a claim.
We do the heavy lifting so your team can stay focused on advancing your business, while leaning on us to help secure the funding you deserve.
Our process is built for accuracy and smooth integration with your existing finance and tax teams.
1. Eligibility assessment
Before any technical or financial work begins, we assess whether your activities qualify as R&D under the statutory definition and which scheme your claim should be made under (e.g. SME or RDEC, taking account of grant funding and subcontracting arrangements). This prevents ineligible or incorrectly structured claims and ensures the relief is claimed through the correct legislative route from the outset.
2. Technical Discovery & Report Preparation
We run specialist workshops with your technical teams to assess project work against the statutory R&D criteria before any costs are considered. We then produce the full 'R&D Technical Report' and manage the review and approval process by your technical team.
3. Project Cost Validation
Alongside our technical workstream, our in-house accountants extract and validate eligible costs directly from your accounting and payroll data. Our finance experts apply the relevant R&D scheme rules, address grant interactions, and create the correct apportionment rules for assigning costs to projects.
4. Regulatory Submissions
Where required, we submit Claim Notifications and the Additional Information Form (AIF) to HMRC or Revenue, ensuring all procedural rules are met.
5. Accountant Handover
We provide final figures and reports to your accountant, who files the CT600 (UK) or CT1 (Ireland) as part of your normal tax return.
6. Enquiry Support
If your claim is reviewed, we manage the response and defend the technical and financial basis of the claim.
Many claims fail not because the business did not perform R&D, but because the claim itself was poorly framed, weakly evidenced, or procedurally incorrect. Our process is designed to reduce those risks while ensuring your claim accurately reflects the innovation you have undertaken.
We don’t believe in charging extortionate fees. Our pricing is fair and transparent, based on a tiered structure that reflects the complexity and risk of each claim we undertake.
Importantly, our support doesn’t stop at the R&D claim itself - our project support services and full enquiry defence are included within our fees, giving you complete peace of mind.
No. Redline works alongside your accountant. We do not replace them.
We prepare the full R&D 'claim pack', including the technical narrative, cost calculations, and any required HMRC or Revenue filings such as the Claim Notification Form and Additional Information Form (AIF). We then provide your accountant with the final approved figures and supporting report.
Your accountant remains responsible for updating and submitting your corporation tax return (CT600 in the UK or CT1 in Ireland) and filing it with HMRC or Revenue.
This ensures your R&D claim is technically robust while your accountant retains control of your statutory tax filings and overall tax position.
We are always keen to visit businesses in-person to see and understand their innovation first-hand.
